1. Why do people lie sometimes?
Sometimes, I think people lie because it is simply easier. If they have done something wrong, then they usually don’t want to face the music. However, sometimes a white lie must be told in order to save a relationship. There are so many reasons, that I could go on for days.
2. How would you define white lies?
White lies are small lies that aren’t meant to harm others. For example, you might tell someone they look nice, even if you feel they don’t. These lies are usually told to help someone feel better or to improve a relationship. More often than not, the lie is quickly forgotten.
3. Do you think it’s important to teach children to be honest?
Absolutely. Honesty is the best policy. Thus, it is important to instill this in children at a very early age. Children should learn the consequences of 丨ying and how to be brave and tell the truth when they’ve done something wrong. This helps to build stronger adults. It also gives children a sense of responsibility for their actions.
4. What are the other ways to teach children about honesty except having parents or teachers teach them?
I think interactions with other children are a great way to teach honesty. Kids will naturally learn that lying doesn’t do them any favors. This lesson might be learned in a loss of friendship. Children might also have to interact in ways they do not like due to lies. This offers a quick and efficient lesson.
5. Some people say that liars are those who have a good memory, what do you think?
I would have to disagree about this. Some people that lie often must have a good memory in order to keep up with their lies. However, this only makes them a good liar. People will poor memories can stilllie frequently. There lies are just more obvious to the world.
