1. Do you prefer long holidays or more short holidays in a year? (9-12月新高频题)
I prefer having more short holidays in a year. Even though you don’t get to have long vacations, it helps
break up your schedule. It’s easy to get bored or stuck in a rut162 if you don’t get breaks. So I think it’s great having holidays spread throughout the year.
2. Which place do you like to travel to, sea resorts or cities? (9-12月新高频题)
I love traveling to cities. They’re always so exciting to explore. There are usually impressive buildings or cool architecture, like famous bridges or towers, that make for great tourist destinations. Plus, I like learning about the local culture by checking out restaurants and street markets.
3. Please describe a good vacation you experienced. (9-12 月新高频题)
A couple years ago, I went on a trip to New York City with my best friend. We went to all the famous tourist attractions, like the Empire State Building and Staten Island163. It was so fun to explore the city with her. We had a total blast164 walking around and taking in the sights165.
4. What kind of vacation would you like? / What kind of travel experience would you like to have? (9-12月新高频题)
I’d love to have a relaxing vacation. I’ve had plenty of trips that were packed with things to do166. So I think it would be nice to change gears167 and just kick back and relax. I guess it would be perfect to lie on a beach and just spend the day reading.(放松的假期形式很多,此处仅为例子,可以根据自己的喜好内容调整)
5. How many public holidays do you have in your country?
Well …there are a ton of public holidays in China. Of course, the longest one is the spring festival holiday, which lasts two weeks for a lot of people168. Besides that we also have holidays for Labor Day, midautumn day, National Day and so on. Actually, I think we have at least one holiday each month.
6. Which is the most popular holiday in China?
When it comes to the most popular holiday in China, it’s definitely the Spring Festival! We all love it because it’s the grandest169 festival of the year. Our families have complete reunions170 and have a blast171 doing a ton of interesting things, like playing mahjong and playing with firecrackers172. Anyway, it’s a great bonding time for families in China.
7. Do you like busy days? Do you prefer being busy or being free?
I don’t like busy days. I get stressed pretty easily, so when things are hectic173, I feel like I’m going to lose my mind174. So I definitely prefer being free. It’s just so much nicer to kick back and relax. You can do whatever you want when you have a free day.
8. Whafs your favorite way to kill time?
I think my favorite way to kill time is by hanging out with friends. You can do whatever; you can go shopping, you can watch a movie, or you can just sit around and shoot the breeze175. There’s usually no pressure when you’re with your friends.
9. Which holiday is your favorite?
Honestly I love all the holidays. But if I have to pick one, I will choose Spring Festival. It’s not only because it’s the longest holiday when I can have a two-week break, but also because I enjoy celebrating it with my beloved family. Plus, as a younger person in my family, I could get some red envelopes from my elders176 during Spring Festival.
10. How do you usually spend your holidays?
I usually spend my holidays with my family. It’s not that exciting, but I really like the chance to catch up with them177 and see how they’re all doing. It helps strengthen the relationships between us and keeps us close. It’s also nice having some of my mother’s home-cooked food.
11. Do you think people need more public holidays?
Well, if you ask me, I think it would be great if we had more public holidays. You know, people could benefit from having more time off 178. It would give them the chance to kick back and relax, which could really help their mental health. But I don’t know if it’s more of a want than a need179.
