1. Are you a patient person?
Honestly, I don’t think I’m that patient. Whenever a website takes a long time to load, I find myself getting antsy354 or just closing the website altogether. I especially hate waiting for people to meet up with me. It drives me crazy355 when they’re late. I think it’s pretty disrespectful.
2. Were you patient when you were young?
No, I definitely wasn’t patient when I was young. I always wanted everything to happen as fast as possible. I hated waiting for my friends to come over. I used to fidget356 a lot if I had to wait around for a while. I think I’ve outgrown that habit, but at the time I was super impatient.
3. Are people in your country patient? (9-12 月出现的新高频题)
Yeah, I think people in my country are patient for the most part. Nobody gets too out of sorts if they have to wait in a long line or anything like that. But at the same time, we’re only human. So sometimes I’ve seen people lose their temper because something doesn’t happen quickly enough for them.
4. What do you do when you are waiting for a bus? (9-12 月出现的新高频题)
I usually just listen to music or text my friends when I’m waiting for a bus. Songs are a great way to keep your mind occupied357. My favourite songs have really good lyrics that I love listening to. Having conversations with your friends can help kill time as well. It definitely keeps me entertained.
5. Have you become more patient or less patient compared to when you were younger?
Um… I’ve become more patient compared to when I was younger. For example, now I understand why people are running late358 so I’m not as annoyed when I have to wait for them. I also had a job in customer service last summer, which taught me to be very patient with other people, even if they were rude.
6. Do you think patience is important for study and work^?
Yeah, patience is important for study and work. Those things take time to do well359, so you have to keep your cool360 in order to do your best. Personally, I can get really in my head361 and get frustrated if things aren’t going well362. But being patient helps me keep calm so I can do my best work.
7. How do you feel when other people are not patient?
Even though I’m not that patient myself, it still ticks me off363 when other people are impatient. I especially hate it when I’m lined up for a bus and people start pushing to get on. It’s such a pain364. I get that365 people are in a rush sometimes, but we still have to behave like proper adults366.
8. Are you less or more patient when you are angry?
I’m definitely less patient when I’m angry. You know, when I’m in that state of mind, it’s really hard to keep my cool. So if someone’s being a pain in my neck367, it’s very hard for me to be patient. All I really want to do is just scream at the top of my lungs368.
