So far, the gift that I spent the most time preparing was a painting. I made it during a summer holiday two years ago. At the time, my mom’s birthday was coming up. I thought that no gift is more genuine than a gift I make myself. So I decided to draw something for her.
I was obsessed with learning how to paint during that time, and I happened to find a kind of DIY painting kit94 on the internet. So I bought a landscape painting kit95 to have a try. Since my mom loves flowers, I made a landscape painting with tons of tulips blooming in all kinds of colors. Tulips with the same color are all painted in the same section. And the sections are arranged in a sophisticated way to make a rainbow out of all the flowers, which looks quite breathtaking.
Although I just filled sections with colors on the painting, it’s not as easy as it sounds. The work took me a whole month on and off96. The challenge of this painting is its abundance use of colors, such as rich and deep maroon and purple as well as tulips in pure white, cream, and palest yellow. So I had to fill the colors in very carefully.
Fortunately, I finished this painting on time and it looks pretty good. My mom was also over the moon receiving this gift. Even though making it was time-consuming97, it was worth it to make the recipient happy, which definitely gave me a sense of achievement.
