2019年9月-12月雅思口语Part 3 Topic 1 室内游戏

1. Why do people like playing cellphone games now?

Honestly, I think people like playing cellphone games because they’re mindless entertainment1. After all, playing a cellphone game isn’t exactly rocket science2 You don’t have to focus that much on it. So it can help people kick back and relax, or blow off steam3 after a long day at work or school. Plus, cellphone games are designed to hook you in and keep you addicted4. So it’s no wonder that5 lots of people like playing them.

2. Some people say playing games is a waste of time, what do you think of it?

Well, it seems to me that playing games can have value to some extent6. It’s healthy to have a way of blowing off steam, especially after a long day of work or school. So it’s not a complete waste of time if it helps you feel at ease7. But then again8, it’s easy to spend too much time playing games instead of actually being productive and getting stuff done. You have to do everything in moderation9, and playing games is no exception10.

3. Do teamwork games have any benefit?

Yeah, I think teamwork games have tons of benefits11. For one, they make you improve your communication skills. You have to talk with the people you’re playing with in order to play the game well. So it automatically makes you more social and helps you listen to others. Besides, they teach you how to respect others and build better relationships with them. Sometimes, teamwork games can also
teach you leadership skills.(因各个考官给出的时长不同,在练习中可根据提供思路继续删减或 扩展内容练习。以下所有素材内容同理。)

4. What kinds of indoor games are popular in China?

As far as I know, board games are pretty popular in China. Older generations mostly prefer classic
board games, like Chinese chess. Those games require you to keep your wits up12. You know, you
have to be very strategic to win. But young people are addicted to modern games like Werewolf Kill or Legends of the Three Kingdoms13. Those are popular card games among young guys in China.

5. What qualities should a team leader have?

I suppose that a team leader should be decisive14. They should be able to figure out what’s best for the team and act on it right away. They shouldn’t flip-flop15 with their choices. Besides, they should respect everyone on the team and make sure they feel heard16. In addition, it’s important to be patient. A team leader shouldn’t lose their cool17 if things go wrong. It sets a bad example for the rest of the team.
