1. What are the benefits that a park can bring to a city?
For one, a park can provide some beautiful scenery to a city. It’s very easy for a city to start to look dreary219. If it’s just all buildings, there’s nothing really pretty to look at. So a park is a place where people can see something other than concrete220. Another benefit is that people of all ages can hang out in a park. Parks usually make people feel relaxed, which is good for their health in the long run.
2. Which age group would like to go to a park?
I believe people of all ages like going to a park. But I think that older people usually like going to parks more. Retired people especially have a lot of time on their hands221. So it’s nice for them to take a walk in a park or just sit down and enjoy the scenery. Young people like going to parks too, but they have more energy so they might want to go somewhere more exciting.
3. Why do some people like to plant flowers and grasses?
Well, some people plant flowers and grasses as a hobby because it helps them relax. Gardening doesn’t take that much energy, and it can be really rewarding when your plants finally grow and bloom. Plus, if you grow your own vegetables, you can save money on groceries. It’s very satisfying to know that you made all the parts of your meal. I guess that’s why a lot of people get a kick out of gardening222
4. Do you think people should help clean public parks/gardens?
Yeah, people should help clean public parks and gardens. Even though it’s not their main responsibility, as citizens they get to enjoy those spaces. So it would be nice if they helped keep them clean. It doesn’t have to be their top priority223, but I think everyone should do their share224 to help public parks and gardens look their best. I believe it’s a good way to bring the community together225 as well.
5. How can the government let people protect public gardens?
I guess the government can let people protect public gardens by making official rules226. For example, they can make it illegal to destroy public gardens. And the government can also enforce the rules that already exist227. They can help stop people who litter or make a mess in public gardens. Honestly, it should be a joint effort228 between governments and citizens. After all, public gardens are spaces that everyone can enjoy.
