1. Should parents choose their children’s major?

No, I don5t think parents should choose their children5s majors. Choosing a major is a big stepping stone532 from adolescence into adulthood. Parents can help their child by being supportive and giving advice for their child5 s decision, but choosing the major for them can be a very wrong idea. It might cause the child to major in something they don’t even like, which can lead to more problems in the future. So I think parents shouldn’t be controlling towards their child5 s major.

2. What can affect the career choices of young people?

A lot of things can affect the career choices of young people. One of the main things would be finance. Usually a new student entering the workforce can’t be too picky533. A higher paying job could be one reason that they choose a certain job over another. Another reason could be interest. After all, basically everyone wants to do a job they really love, right? Besides, people with higher education can afford to be choosy when it comes to jobs, whereas lower educated students might not have that luxury.

3. Which aspects should people consider when they are looking for a job?

A person should really consider their interests when it comes to jobs. Does the job description look manageable534? Does the job pay enough? The hours are also important. Are the hours too heavy, or too flexible? Location would also matter535, since the job might be international or require a lot of traveling. The decision to take the job would then depend on the person and what they are looking for.

4. What is the most popular profession among young people in China?

One of the most popular professions amongst young people in China are jobs in technology, especially programmers and engineers. Those kinds of jobs are significant to the development of our society nowadays and will be worth more in the future. So people with those careers have a bright future. And most importantly, those jobs usually have really decent pay536, which I think is the main reason why young graduates like doing them.

5. Should the government raise the retirement age?

Yes, they should. With the rise in inflation537 and the looks of the economy, even on a global scale, it is clear that the current retirement age is not working. People are unable to retire at the current set age of 65 because they haven’t made enough to afford a stable lifestyle. Increasing the retirement age might help because it would give these people a few more years of job stability to earn more money before they grow too old.
