- Describe an interesting neighbor
- You should say
- Who this person is
- How you know this person and explain why you think he/she is interesting
I’d like to talk about my neighbor, Jim, who is a lovely boy, moved with his family to our neighborhood last month. He is about nine or ten years old with blonde curly hair. There are some freckles on his nose, and that is very cute.
I met Jim on his family’s house warming party. His family invited some neighbors over and treated us with a decent meal. We had a good time there. Jim was wearing a T-shirt with Harry Potter’s picture that night. So I asked him about Hogwarts, the magical school. He believed that there was a Hogwarts in the world and he would receive his offer from his owl on his next birthday. His mother was smiling all the time and tried not to break his imagination. I chatted with him and shared my opinions on Harry Potter and introduced the Harry Potter factory which located in London.
As to why I think he’s an interesting person. Well, I think he brings my childhood back to me. I love him fascinating ideas about magic. When I was reading Harry Potter for the first time in primary school, I was just like him. I also believed that magic exists in the world, and I was a muggle» which means people who do not know the magic in the books. I was surprised that we have the same thoughts about the magic world, and I envy him that he can still hold his imagination.
1.Do you think neighbors are important?
Of course. Ifs dangerous to live isolated. As saying goes that a good neighbor is better than a distant relative. If we have a good relationship with neighbors, we can help and support each other. For instance, we can get help immediately if there is an emergency.
2.Do you think it’s important to have a good relationship with one’s neighbors?
Absolutely. It will make your life happier if you get along well with your neighbors. You can visit their home and chat with them in your free time. You will not feel lonely when you stay with neighbors. Above all, you can get help from them when you are in trouble.
3.Do you think people’s relationships with their neighbors today is the same as it was in the past?
Well, I don’t think so. We live close to each other, but we rarely have the chance to communicate. We go back home as soon as we finish our work or school. We have some gatherings, but we do not have heart-to heart talk.
4.What are the benefits of belonging to a community
The biggest advantage of belonging to a community is that you can get a sense of belonging. When you feel lonely and desperate, you know that you can rely on people in the community and they will offer help to you generously. In addition, you can make many friends who have the same interests or hobbies with you in the community.
