- Describe a time when someone helped you
- You should say:
- Who helped you and why
- How this person helped you
- What the result was
- And explain how you felt about this person helping you
A time when someone helped me happened when I learned to put on make-up during my undergraduate days. When I was a freshman, I joined one club and was asked to be the host for an award ceremony, which meant that I had to wear fancy dress and put on make-up to show the respect for the audience. However, I knew nothing about this aspect at that time and one of my dormmates, Cathy, was willing to help me finish the first make-up in my life. As for how she helped me, she lent a whole set of make-up tools to me, including eye-shadow, lipstick, foundation, etc. Firstly, she taught me to use lotion, essence and makeup primer before applying the foundation to my face. Then, just like a magician, she helped me finish the eye part which was the most difficult one since using the mascara and eyeliner was too much for a new beginner. After century’s long, she accomplished the huge task without messing it up, and I looked much prettier than before, which made me marvel at the power of make-up. When it comes to how I felt about her efforts, I was really grateful since she was the one who led me to enter the new world of cosmetic products and boosted my confidence in working as a host. And if there is a chance, I am ready to be her stylist now since I have practiced a lot and thus have accumulated adequate experience in this field.
