- Describe a time when you missed an appointment You should say:
- When it was
- Who you made it with
- Why you missed it
- And explain how you felt about it
I want to tell you one experience which happened when I was stll a primary school student, I was so impressed by the experience that I couldn’t forget it over these years. Once I had an appointment with my classmates to go out to play together. We agreed on the meeting place and time, and we all promised that we would not be absent.
Early in that morning, I woke up and got myself dressed, then I rushed to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. But when I just pushed my bike out of the house, it suddenly began to rain heavily. I thought the rain would stop after a while, and then it would be the time for me to set off. However the rain didn’t even ease off after half an hour, and that it was almost the appointed time, I called my friends but no one answered the phone. At that time children did not have their own cellphones, so all I could do was calling their fixed phones. I was so worried and nervous, fearing that they would still wait for me in the rain, so finally I rushed to the park with several umbrellas, luckily, they weren*t there.
However on Monday, I learned that some of them caught a cold. All of a sudden, I felt a sense of guilt and shame. Because I broke my contract, my friends not only wasted their precious time, and also had to suffer from illness, I really feel terrible. From then onf I never missed one appointment, since I know that this will not only hurt others1 feelings, but also hurt mine at the same time.
Part3
1.Is it important to have a daily plan?
I think yes, especially for procrastinators like me. Daily plans really work in helping us get ourselves organized and prepared, in addition, it is also useful for those people who have a bad memory. It may be troublesome to make daily plans at first, but once you are used to it, you might find its convenience.
2.What kind of things do people need to plan carefully?
Actually there are many of them, ranging from small things to really, really important things. As a student, I think we shoule plan small things like the time schedule to finish our homework and the period for us to go over lessons we’ve learnt in classes, meanwhile we should also plan for our life, like what job to apply for in the future, or which university to enter.
3.Is there anything that cannot be planned?
Yes, a lot of things. Sometimes something which is unplanned happens and has influence on our plans, if the influence is positive, we might call it a miracle or something, but if it is negative, people may call it a disaster. What we should do is to think of the possibilities and make preparations in advance in order to deal with those negative events.
4.Do you think it is important to have a work-life balance?
Yes, of course. In my opinion, both workaholics and Hikikomoris are not that healthy mentally. If people attach so much importance on work and neglect the necessity to live a happy life, they might get too exhausted and their family may also suffer, and if people refuse to work or do not spare enough effort on work, he or she will never do his or her own work well. So it is of great importance to find the balance between the two.
