- Describe a trip you took by public transport
- You should say:
- Where did you go
- Who you went with
- What you do over the trip
- And explain why you chose to travel by public transport
It was about last year, the last day of my second semester.my class held a big party in a small restaurant. After that, we had a school-bus trip together, the most unforgettable trip I’ve ever had.
It’s like a reminiscent trip, Miss Wang she rented this bus and we chose a typical route crossing through the whole city. And we also picked out several stations where we tried to stay for a while, like taking a walk along the street, and also having some snacks in those small shops. Everyone enjoyed the whole process. The whole thing was just amazing, you know, it’s not about having something to eat, it’s more like a sharing experience at that moment. The thing is, unlike other trips, we could travel at our own pace since we get to stop wherever we want to. Another thing is, it is so terrific to talk, and also exchange views with so many people at the same time, especially with my dear classmates
Every time we talked about this nice trip, we would always laugh out loudly. During the trip, on the bus, we actually did lots of things, like enjoying the beautiful views along the way, and talking about our life, discussing about those funny moments in the classroom we shared together. Everyone seemed to get closer to each other. Yeah, we actually played several games too, I still remember the guessing riddles, and that was so hard. That was a nice trip
PART 3
1.Do you often take public transport?
Yes, since I’m still a university student and I’m now in Shanghai, I take public transport very often. It is cheaper and convenient for me to take public transport when I have to go somewhere in Shanghai. Among all the kinds of public transportations, I take the underground most often due to its efficiency. And there are more than 10 underground lines in Shanghai and most places are available by underground.
2.Why do people enjoy taking public transport?
I think the major reason is it saves money. Living costs in big cities are usually high, people without enough money could not afford driving a car. Besides, another reason is convenience and efficiency. It is known to all that many big cities have the problem of traffic jam, or more exactly, serious traffic jam especially in the peak time. So taking public transportation like underground saves people’s time and they can also have a rest on it, compared with driving a car by himself. These are some reason why people enjoy commuting by public transportations.
3.Will free public transport reduce traffic congestion?
I’m not sure how much such measure could reduce traffic congestion, but it can help to ease the situation. Like I have said before, people who want to save money would like to choose public transportation, and free fare could encourage more people. But for those who do not care money, this measure may have no influence. And I think, most people driving cars don’t care money so much. So such measure possibly could not reduce traffic congestion to great extent.
