I would like to talk about Walmart, which is not only one big company that I admire, but also one classical example used by my professor during classes.

Walmart is one of the biggest retailers in the world, owning chain stores all over the world, and one of them was near our old house, and I went to that supermarket a lot when I was a kid. At Walmart, consumers can experience “one-stop shopping”. They sell various items, including food, toys, clothing, cosmetics, household appliances, daily necessities, etc. In addition, Walmart has set up a number of special service types for the convenience of customers, like free parking, pastry, and consultation for eldectronic products like computer, camera, VCR and related products. Whafs more, Walmart is famous for its low price, trying their best to save money from purchasing channels, distribution methods, marketing expenses, administrative expenses and other aspects, and by doing so, their price is always cheaper than other businesses, and this attracts a lot of consumers as well.

What impresses me most is that Walmart regards superior service as its duty. In many Walmart stores, according to my teacher, there are rules like this: Rule number 1, Customers are always right. And 2, If the customer has any mistake, please refer to rule number one. I believe the secret of Walmart’s operation lies in its deep understanding of the needs of customers, putting themselves in the interests of customers and providing convenience to customers to the greatest extent.

Big companies are always more generous and capable to offer stable income and better welfare. In addition, they are much more experienced in handling difficult tasks and dealing with various issues, so it is a good choice for green hands to learn from other more experienced workers and fellows.

4.Is it difficult to get a promotion in a large company?

I would say yes. Since for big companies, their promotions are limited, added that there are always numbers of competitors who all long for working in big companies, the standard for us applicants will be stricter than that of small companies. But things are different if the applicant hs useful skills that are believed by human resource managers to bring profit for their company.
