Describe your grandparent’s job. You should say:
- What it was
- How long he or she had this job
- How he or she got the job
- And whether you would like to have this job
My 70-year-old grandmother was a mathematics teacher in a primary school. She was very humorous and dedicated to (/’dedi,keitid/专注的)her students, which increased her popularity among students. Compared with other peers, she was lucky to have enough money for education as she was born in a wealthy family.
Having education degrees allow her to teach in primary school for 30 years. She got the job because she was excellent at mathematics and her teaching style was great. During the lectures, she aimed to teach students to solve problems with basic operations, like addition and multiplication, and how to think about simple real-life problems using mathematics. Various daily examples demonstrated during the lecture attracted students a lot, making her lectures more interesting. I used to attend her lectures when I was a kid.
Mathematics teachers in China are respectful and have lots of benefits, contributing to the future of the whole country; however, I don’t want to be a mathematics teacher at all, as my mathematics skills are terrible. Besides, I don’t feel passionate about repeated life as the teacher often teach similar things over the years. And dealing with relationships with younger students is also challenging for me.
