Describe a meal you invited others to have at your home or in a restaurant. You should say:
- Who you invitied
- Where you ate
- What you ate
- And explain how they felt about this meal
Last December, after finishing my exams, I invited a group of my friends including local Chinese and overseas students, to have Christmas meal in an American restaurant near my university. The restaurant was very romantic, decorated with various lights, and there were musicians playing love songs.
We ordered various types of dishes including starters, main meals, and deserts. And all of them were very delicious, especially the classic roast turkey. My friend told me that it’s a traditional Christmas dish and easy to cook. All a turkey needs are a generous rubdown with plenty of salt and sugar and an overnight rest in the fridge to allow that seasoning to really penetrate—whether you’re roasting it whole. After that, we can just cook it with oven for about 1 hour.
I would say that was the best Christmas meal I had in my life. Because it’s entirely different from a Chinese festival meal. In addition, Every part of the restaurant including decoration, food, and service, was super excellent. Gathering around a dining table together has far reaching physical and mental health benefits, for every one of all ages. At the table, we share stories, build upon relationships, learn from each other’s mistakes and triumphs
