故事简介：我对中国20世纪的历史很感兴趣，我第一次知道孙中山是在小的时候，然后开始读那段 时间的历史，在那个年代，很多国家的人的生活已经改变，但是在中国，那个进程非常迅速和激进。 那段历史并不遥远，那是每个人的过去，我还特别喜欢学习毛泽东和邓小平的历史。现在我们生活在节奏快速的年代，没有时间去分析我们为这个国家做了什么，我们从哪里来，要到哪里去。但是通 过回头看历史，我们可以思索应该如何行进。

I have always been interested in the history of China in the 20th century. As someone deeply connected to China, and with close friends and family there, the recent history is particularly interesting.
I was first introduced to Sun Yat Sen when I was a very young student, which began a journey of reading and studying about the period more generally. In many countries, the lives of ordinary people have changed gradually over many years, but in China, the process has been rapid and radical.

What I find especially interesting is that if I speak to Chinese people about what their families have done in their past, then I continually hear stories of radical change. The history here is not some distant story; it is a part of everyone’s immediate past. I particularly enjoy learning about Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.

We often live our everyday lives in such a hurry, having no time to analyze what we have done as a country to get from where we were to where we are now, but when we look at this period of history we start to understand ourselves, and we can perhaps start to imagine how we can continue to move forward.
