雅思口语Part 3 聚会派对

1. What do children often do in a birthday party?

Generally, children’s parties have lots of games to keep all the kids as busy as bees. Sometimes, parents will go the extra mile and order a bouncy house to help everyone burn off some energy. On top of that, there’s lots of sweet treats to pig out on. Of course, the birthday child also rips open gifts.

2. What do adults do at parties?

Usually, when adults go to a party it is to mingle, dance and listen to music. Usually, there’s some refreshments to snack on throughout the party too and occasionally guests will enjoy an alcoholic beverage. Sometimes, there are even party games, like charades, to make sure everyone is having a good time.

3. Do Chinese people like to hold parties?

Personally, I love to have parties and attend them. We have so many special occasions in China, that it wouldn’t make sense that people didn’t like parties. For instance, during the Spring Festival, most people hold so many parties that it is hard not to spend the entire holiday going from one event to the next.

4. Should parents spend a lot of money on their children’s birthday parties?

I don’t think that birthday parties need to cost an arm and a leg. Most children are happy to play simple games or use their imaginations with their friends. You can even whip up your child’s cake and snacks at home to save on money. Best of all, creating DIY decorations for the party can be an absolute blast.

5. Do you think people can make more friends if they often attend parties?

Without a doubt! One of the best places to meet new friends is at parties. Going to a party gives you the opportunity to meet people you wouldn’t normally see on a daily basis. It also allows you to find people who have common interests with you, which will help build a strong foundation for a friendship.
