2019年9月-12月雅思口语Part 1 Topic 14 wild animals

1. Have you ever seen wild animals in your life?

Well, I guess it depends on what you think of as wild animals. I’ve seen animals in their element, but they’re usually just regular animals like squirrels or raccoons150. I’ve seen exotic animals151 like lions and tigers, but only in a zoo. So I don’t know if that counts152, since they live in captivity153.

2. What’s your favorite wild animal?

When it comes to wild animals, I’m crazy about pandas. They look like giant teddy bears, but with striking154 black and white markings. And they have black eye patches155 that make them look pretty funny. I mean, no animals are more adorable than pandas, are they?

3. Do you like to go to zoos?

I have mixed feelings about going to zoos. On the one hand, it blows my mind156 to see exotic animals up close and in person157. But on the other hand, it’s kind of sad that158 these beautiful creatures live behind bars159. Freedom is not only for human beings but also for animals.

4. Do you think it’s important to protect wild animals?

Yes, I think it’s super important to protect wild animals. They’re an essential and beautiful part of nature. You know, a lot of species are endangered because humans have been destroying their habitats. And when some species go extinct160, the food chain161 in the area might just break, which is dangerous to nature as well as to human beings.
